Celebrating International Women's Day

To continue our mission of conscious inclusion across McCann Central, we supported International Women’s Day through a week of activities celebrating the achievements of women within our business, as well discussing some of the issues relating to gender equality.

The theme of this year’s IWD was ‘Each for Equal’ – a call for individuals to actively challenge stereotypes, fight bias and celebrate women’s achievements. We therefore created a space in each office where people could make a pledge to help create a gender equal world or even strike the #EachforEqual pose in support of the cause.

But it didn’t end there. We held roundtables where we openly discussed gender equality issues relating to our industry – from championing diversity within the creative sector through to better understanding the needs of women within our offices.

We also celebrated the inspirational women from around our business, shining a spotlight on their achievements and successes through a series of films. And finally, we hosted a clothing drive for Smart Works – a charity that provides high quality interview clothes and interview training to unemployed women in need.
