McCann reveals team at helm of new Leeds office

McCann Leeds, part of McCann Worldgroup in the UK, has announced the senior team that will launch the new office in August this year.

Based on Wellington Street in the city centre, the Leeds team will offer McCann’s best-in-class thinking and integrated delivery across planning, creative, media, activation, digital, PR and social when it opens next month.

Leading the charge are Olly Sowden and Gavin Shore, who join as Managing Partner and Executive Creative Director respectively. Both join from Jaywing where they have had great success working together for the last 9 years, playing a pivotal role in Jaywing’s growth.

Olly Sowden, Managing Partner, is a consultative marketing professional and agency spearhead with over 15 years’ experience in the region, building and nurturing client relationships with the likes of Center Parcs, Hermes, Asda and Rolls Royce.

Gavin Shore, Executive Creative Director, is a fearless and passionate creative leader with over 20 years’ experience on some of the region and nation’s biggest brands, such First Direct, Castrol, UBS, SkyBet & Nutmeg.

Alex Ashby joins McCann Leeds as Strategy Director having moved from Refinery in Manchester where he built the strategy department. He began his career as a strategist at RKCR/Y&R working on some of the agency’s largest accounts, including Lloyds Banking Group, Vodafone, and the BBC. He later joined BMB to lead strategy on Paddy Power, Thomson Holidays, Purplebricks, Hula Hoops, and AG Barr.

Olly, Gavin and Alex are also joined by new business director James Lilley, also from Jaywing in Sheffield.
